I don’t even own permanent markers.
I don’t even own permanent markers.
Project: Paperbag Jellyfish
Materials Needed:
- Materials: Paper bags, scissors, paints, paintbrushes, googly eyes, glue, and optional sparkles.
Instructions:
- Decorate the bag - Place the bag flat and paint or color it however you like. You can add sparkles or googly eyes to the bottom of the bag, which will be the top or head of the jellyfish.
- Cut the tentacles - Use scissors to cut strips from the open part of the bag, about a quarter to half an inch thick, and 3–4 inches from the closed part. You can use regular scissors or pattern scissors, which have a wavy line on the blade.
- Make a hole - Punch a small hole at the top of the bag and thread string through it. Tie a double knot to secure it.
- Hang it up - When the jellyfish is completely dry, you can hang it in a bright window so it sways in the breeze
Tips for Success:
- Supervision: Depending on the age group, adult supervision may be needed, especially when using scissors, glue, or any potentially messy materials.
- Encouragement: Encourage creativity and experimentation. Art projects are a great opportunity for kids to explore their imagination.
- Display: Once completed, display the artwork proudly! It boosts children's confidence and encourages further creativity.
Have a colorful day!
