Here's a silly joke about a surprise and instructions for an art project called "Paper Plate Masks".

At school today I brought my class new markers, crayons, colored pencils, and oil pastels.
They didn’t know I was coming, so I jumped out and yelled SUPPLIES!!

Project:  Paper Plate Masks

Materials Needed:

  • Disposable paper plates (preferably the sturdy kind)
  • Color Swell scissors
  • Color Swell paints, markers, and/or crayons
  • Color Swell glue
  • Decorative items (feathers, sequins, yarn, etc.)
  • Safety mat: old newspaper or old cloth.

Instructions:

  • Step 1: Prepare your work area for your mat, paper paints, and markers.
  • Step 2: Cut eye holes in the paper plate to create a mask shape.
  • Step 3: Decorate the mask using paints, markers, and/or crayons. The kids can create characters or animals.
  • Step 4: Add decorative items like feathers, sequins, or yarn using glue.
  • Step 5: Let the mask dry completely.
  • Step 6: Once dry, punch a hole on each side of the mask and tie string or elastic through the holes to wear the mask.

Tips for Success:

  • Supervision: Depending on the age group, adult supervision may be needed, especially when using scissors, glue, or any potentially messy materials.
  • Encouragement: Encourage creativity and experimentation. Art projects are a great opportunity for kids to explore their imagination.
  • Display: Once completed, display the artwork proudly! It boosts children's confidence and encourages further creativity.
